Campgrounds
Camp Underbite is 4.5 acres of peaceful beauty nestled creek-side in rolling pastures. The perfect place for your pup to enjoy secure, open spaces full of fresh air and room to roam. We love the property so much, we live there.
Jet-setters will love Camp Underbite for its proximity to Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport (XNA). At 1.5 miles/2 minutes away, you can’t beat the convenience! Air travel is inconvenient enough; let us help alleviate some stress by making drop-off and pick-up a breeze.
The Bunkhouse is a 800 Square foot building with heating and air conditioning. Campers can rest and recharge on their individual resting spaces.
Because we live 100 feet from The Bunkhouse, the pups can get the attention they need, day and night and we can be more flexible with drop-off and pick-up times.

Our
Story
Hello! We are Jamie and Katrina, the Camp Directors at Camp Underbite.
If you’re reading this, we probably have a lot in common. We live in Northwest Arkansas, we love animals (who doesn’t??), we are Pet Parents and our busy lives sometimes force us to leave our beloved pets behind. Some pets handle this better than others, and our Tucker (the handsome grin in our logo) isn’t great at being left behind.
He suffered from a pretty expensive case of Separation Anxiety. His behavior forced us to get creative (essential oils, audiobooks, Talk Radio, pet cam surveillance) and ultimately, we were forced to either bring him EVERYWHERE or leave him home. Leaving him home not only caused him stress but we were racked with guilt knowing he was upset and we cringed at every return, worried about what mess we were walking into. Our biggest concern was his safety and it just really broke our hearts that he was so unhappy and anxious.
So what does this have to do with Camp Underbite?
We decided to turn this negative into a positive. Camp Underbite is designed and run with Tucker, and dogs like him, in mind. We had both been working corporate jobs for almost two decades and were at a point in our lives that involved a lot of reflection and the old “is this what we want to do the rest of or lives?” deliberation. Some might call it a mid-life crisis. During one of these conversations, my mom threw out the Doggy Day Care idea. She was well-aware of our struggles with Tucker (she was one of the only sitters we trusted with Tucker’s special needs) and she knew how passionate we were about animals.
The idea snowballed remarkably fast. Thanks, Mom.
You should feel confident knowing we are empathetic Pet Parents. We know some pets need extra special treatment and that can sometimes be a source of embarrassment for the owners. We know how disruptive the owner’s absence can be to a pet’s happiness. Camp Underbite is a ‘no judgement zone’ and we will do what we need to make the pets safe, satisfied and loved. We want to help unlock the good dog in every dog. Exercise, attention, socialization and outdoor fun can help do just that.
So why the camp theme? We like being outdoors and wide open spaces, dogs are more satisfied and balanced when they can run free in the fresh air, and the most obvious reason: camp is fun!

Frequently Asked Questions
What is required for my dog to stay at Camp Underbite?

- All dogs must spayed or neutered upon reaching maturity. The appropriate age varies for different breeds and genders, so ask your vet for advice.
- Flea and Tick examination. We will treat if necessary at owner’s expense

- Your pup will also be invited to attend a One Day Orientation (free of charge) to ensure they are comfortable at Camp Underbite and they get along with other Campers and humans.
A One Day Orientation pass is required. What is that?
Before their first stay at Camp Underbite, we want to make sure it’s a good fit for every Camper. We offer a One Day Orientation Pass (free of charge). During the Orientation, the Camper will experience Camp Underbite and we will ensure that they are comfortable with the Campgrounds, the other Campers and the Staff. It’s also a good time to understand which play area is the best fit and whether they will need any special attention.

What should I pack for my dog?
We encourage you to bring your regular food avoid disruption in their diets. We discourage toys, bowls, beds and any other personal items that may cause protective behavior.
I have multiple Campers, can they stay together?
Yes, though they may play in separate groups depending on their size or temperament/energy.
Will you administer medication?
Yes, of course
What happens if my dog gets sick or injured during their stay?
We will contact you immediately and communicate with your vet if necessary.
Do you offer grooming services?
At this time, we do not offer grooming services.
Can I check in on my Camper during their stay?
We know Separation Anxiety can go both ways. If you feel more comfortable being able to check in on your Camper, please make arrangements with the Staff at Drop-off.
What’s the difference between a Doggy Day Camp and a Doggy Day Care?
Doggy Day Camp provides a more camp-like experience. Think larger, open yet secure spaces, surrounded by nature. Camp provides access to sunshine and fresh air and lots of fun with other Campers.
Can I come tour the facility?
We used to offer tours but we found them to be very disruptive for the Campers. When you’re at home, does your dog bark when someone comes to the door? Imagine that times 20!
We put the Campers first, and tours tend to upset them.
Will someone stay with the Campers overnight?
The owners’ residence is also located at Camp Underbite so care and attention is just steps away. If a situation warrants it (storms, upset/sick Campers) we are ready and willing to stay in the Bunkhouse with the pups.
We’d love to hear from you!
